After over 20 years running a successful seaside caravan holiday complex in Skegness, we sold the family business and moved to Louth in the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB to start a new chapter in our lives. We spent the next 5 years self-building a splendid home together in the tiny hamlet of Keddington, alongside the historic St Margaret’s Church. We also began establishing a spectacular 3 acre wildlife friendly garden from the 2 former livestock paddocks surrounding the house.
Once the house was finished, Tommy’s undeniable talent for upcycling and sturdy joinery resulted in the 3 unique cabins, a washrooms block and summerhouse building - all built from scratch using predominantly reclaimed materials wherever possible. With the desire to share our tranquil space and rustic cabins with others, Churchside Huts self catering holiday cabins was born, and we opened for business in 2025.
Visitors can enjoy the beauty and tranquility surrounded by our garden setting with wildlife, nature, beaches, delicious eateries and quaint market towns all within easy reach. The historic City of Lincoln with its stunning cathedral is a must see destination, just 45 mins drive away.
