Frequently Asked Questions:

What different types of accommodation are there at Churchside Huts?

There are two types.
A self-contained cabin or a glamping hut.

1. The Stables Hut

This is a self contained, 2 bedroom cabin all on one level.
It has 2 washrooms, central heating, its own kitchen a comfortable lounge and its own private wraparound garden. The Stables Hut has beautiful garden views and is a peaceful and cosy place to stay whatever the  weather. It can be booked all year round for stays of two nights or more depending on the time of year.

The Stables Hut (cabin for 4)

Louth, United Kingdom
Guests: 4
from€138 per night

2. The Den Hut & The Cosy Nest Hut glamping pods:

These units are quirky wooden holiday huts in our beautiful garden setting, each with its own unique charm.
Built by us from scratch using predominantly upcycled materials, they offer a welcoming and romantic stay for couples - and a safe quiet getaway for solo visitors.

The glamping huts each have a double bed to sleep in and a dedicated spacious washroom just a few steps away, and visitors share the shady covered summerhouse kitchen building with seating and extra kitchen facilities. This is a great space for escaping the sun or the rain, but still being outside.

The glamping huts are bookable for stays of two nights or more from mid March to the end of October.

Do you provide a Hot Tub, Outdoor Bath or Sauna?

No. We prefer guests staying in our garden to bathe in the privacy of their own washroom 😉 … Although we do provide ‘rainfall’ showers ,  but they’re  not the outside variety!

Is there off road Parking at the property?

Yes we have a large gravel driveway at the property, and electric drive gates to secure it. There’s a parking area allocated for our guests.  If you’re coming in more than one vehicle or a very large vehicle, please just let us know first, so that we can make sure there’s room if we’re busy.

It’s just a short walk over to the accommodation from the parking area.

Do You Welcome Dogs?

Yes, we welcome a dog to accompany guests staying in The Den Hut glamping pod. There is a small enclosed garden alongside the Den Hut for supervised off lead time. Please note, it’s fully fenced but not necessarily ‘secure’ if you have an escape artist dog when there are rabbits around!

We encourage the laid-back chilled variety of dog guests, as we’re not actually a suitable place for reactive dogs. There are likely to be other guests walking past, and our own dogs, which might trigger barking. We like to keep everything as peaceful as possible for everyone. There’s a £10 charge for a dog and as there’s not much room in the hut, we limit it to one dog only.   We’re happy for your dog to snuggle up with you on the sofa and we provide a throw for them to lie on, but please bring their own dog bed and bedding.

We don’t allow dogs on the bed. Don’t take this as an unwelcoming attitude, it’s purely practical to limit dog hair and help with laundry. We adore all dogs, they get their own welcome treats, and Lucy in particular is always keen to meet them on arrival and check they’ve enjoyed their holiday on departure.

The Stables Hut
and The Cosy Nest Hut do not take dogs.

Are there any easy dog walks from the property?

Yes there is a lovely walk along the canal directly from our gates. You can choose to walk either a leisurely 40mins towards Louth town centre one way, or off into open countryside towards the sea (eventually) if you go the other way!

There are also several huge, dog friendly sandy beaches within half an hour drive and several dog friendly pubs in the local area.

Will I have to share a toilet or washroom with strangers?
Absolutely not.

If you stay in The Stables Hut it has its own bathroom and 2 toilets.

If you stay in one of our glamping huts you are allocated a private lockable washroom just a few steps away, for the duration of your stay.

Is there any heating in the properties?

The Stables Hut has full central heating.

The Cosy Nest Hut & The Den Hut have electric heaters.

The shared summerhouse kitchen building has a log burner.

The glamping washrooms each have a large heated towel rail.

Will I have to buy Firewood for the firepit / chimenea?
No we currently provide free kindling, firewood and firelighters to guests for use during their stay.

Can I charge and electric vehicle at the property?
No there is not currently an EV charging point available, but there are several charging points available locally in and around Louth town centre.

What times are check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 3pm (latest 9pm) on arrival day.

Check-out is 10am on departure day.

Are there any hiking routes or circular trails in the area?

Yes, the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB has an abundance of walks and picturesque places to visit. There are some walks along the Louth Canal straight from the door, and woodland walks such as Hubbard Hills and Willingham Woods just a few minutes drive away.

Is there a pub we could walk to from the property?
Yes, The Woolpack Inn is a 30 minute stroll away, down the canal path. It is dog friendly, has a great atmosphere and serves wholesome food in generous portions.
